A Guide to Building School Culture Using Folklore Methods

Abstract

The purpose of this guide is to introduce the discipline of folklore to educators who are not familiar with the work of folklorists and illustrate how they can use best practices in folklore to build their school culture. The first section of this guide consists of a brief overview about the discipline of folklore and what folklorist do. The second section comprises recommendations on how schools and school districts can use folklore methods and materials in building and strengthening their school culture.
