Going Straight to the Source: What Users Really Think of Our Catalog - Poster

Abstract

You know students use your catalog, or you hope they do. But do you know what they really think about it? How do you find out what users are thinking if they never come to the library? Where do you find the students who don’t find you? One librarian found answers by going straight to the source, working with residence halls staff to conduct undergraduate focus groups as well as traditional user testing. This poster will present what we discovered about these students' attitudes, preferences, and their overall user experience with the library catalog and the library in general.
