Abstract

At the request of Public Service Indiana, an archaeological reconnaissance of the Marble Hill - Columbus Transmission Line Towers #1114, 1115, and 1116 was undertaken on August 15, 1980. The reconnaissance was carried out in order to identify any archaeological cultural resources that would be affected by the construction of these towers and to evaluate those resources relative to the criteria for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. This report describes the natural and cultural setting of the project areas, archaeological methods and findings, and recommendations concerning the effect of the project upon the prehistoric cultural resources within the tower boundaries.
