Abstract

This small book serves as the accompanying catalogue for the temporary exhibition Shoulder Bags and Ethnic Identity in Southern Yunnan, China. It contextualizes and presents a collection of decorative, but functional, shoulder bags collected among the Akha (Hani), Bulang, Dai, and Jinuo peoples in Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture and Pu’er Prefecture-Level City, Yunnan, China.
