Abstract

The e-courses examined in this study were developed by staff at the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands in partnership with NPS subject-matter experts predominantly from the facility management division. The experts included representatives from Washington D.C., the regions, and the parks. The courses include full-length courses, microlearning courses, and courses that are a part of certificate programs. The courses run from approximately 15 minutes to 90 minutes and include a variety of interactive content. The purpose of this research was to: Gauge participant understanding of course content. Gauge level of participant engagement with course content. Gauge the relevance of the content to course participants. Identify the most helpful elements of the course content. Identify the least helpful elements of the course content. Gauge participant learning from course content.
