Abstract
The Dietary Supplement Survey was administered by study personnel during the phone screen to assess habitual caffeine consumption. Caffeinated products were grouped into: coffee/teas, soft drinks, energy beverages, and caffeinated candy/medications/supplements. For each category, commonly consumed products were queried, followed by an opportunity for participants to indicate if they regularly consumed an item in the category that was not on the pre-set list. The number of fluid ounces consumed as well as the frequency was collected. A code was used to convert consumption into milligrams of caffeine consumed daily.
