Abstract

Description

This report proposes a forest cabin-themed revitalization of Montgomery, Indiana, developed by students from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design. The project includes a sustainable event pavilion, bespoke street lamps, enhanced sidewalks, and cohesive town signage. Emphasizing nature and community, the design integrates interactive murals, improved walkability, and lighting to foster a welcoming and vibrant downtown experience. This report was created by students from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design in collaboration with the town of Montgomery through the 2024–25 IU Sustaining Hoosier Communities initiative. The views expressed are those of the students and do not represent IUSHC, CRE, Indiana University, or the town of Montgomery.
