Description
This report outlines a comprehensive beautification initiative for Montgomery, Indiana, centered on the theme of “Reimagined Country Living.” The project includes proposals for outdoor event spaces, placemaking, sidewalk connectivity, town signage, public art installations, and an interactive mural. Each element is designed to enhance community engagement, preserve the town’s rustic charm, and promote a cohesive visual identity.
This project was completed in collaboration between students from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design and the town of Montgomery as part of the 2024–25 Indiana University Sustaining Hoosier Communities (IUSHC) initiative, a program within the IU Center for Rural Engagement (CRE). This report reflects original student work and recommendations. The views expressed are those of the students and do not represent IUSHC, CRE, Indiana University, or the town of Montgomery.
