Abstract

The parent-baby bond is crucial in the emotional and neurodevelopment of an infant. I am conducting a correlational online study that is examining the relationship between posttraumatic stress symptoms following childbirth and the quality of the parent-baby bond. The participants consisted of 47 men and women, ages 19-47, who have had a child within the past three years. Participants were recruited via social media. Each participant accessed the 58-item survey, containing questions regarding demographics, the childbirth experience, the quality of the parent-baby bond, and posttraumatic stress symptoms. Data collection is currently in progress.
