Description
This report explores strategies to expand agritourism in Orange County, Indiana, through research conducted by Indiana University students in collaboration with Purdue Extension and the Sustaining Hoosier Communities initiative. It examines community readiness, farmer and tourism professional perspectives, and visitor motivations using qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys. Key recommendations include improving awareness of agritourism, leveraging social media and email for communication, and creating educational programs to connect tourists with agricultural experiences. The report emphasizes agritourism’s potential to diversify tourism, strengthen local economies, and foster community engagement.
