| dc.description.abstract | Creating a positive campus climate for LGBTQ+ folx requires efforts both in-and out-of-class. The lack of representation/visibility of diverse experiences can be detrimental for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. To frame the discussion of LGBTQ+ inclusive courses and campuses, this session will utilize analyses from a large-scale, multi-institution quantitative and qualitative data set. This study examined student perceptions of the inclusion of LGBTQ+ issues in curricula and the relationship to other forms of engagement. We use individual’s write-in responses along with scholarship to guide an organic dialogue where participants share their experiences as well as learn strategies to bring back to their own communities. | |
