Abstract
At the request of Rockport, Inc., the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology, Indiana University, conducted an archaeological reconnaissance survey for a proposed addition to the Rockport Hills Subdivision located on the south side of Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana. The archaeological surface reconnaissance of the project area was conducted by Mr. Eric Sipes and Mr. Chuck Bair on May 22, 1998. The subsequent report of findings for the project was produced during the same day. The purpose of the reconnaissance was to locate archaeological cultural resources within the project area and to assess the potential of those resources for inclusion on the Indiana Register of Historic Sites and Structures (IRHSS) and the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). No cultural resources were discovered within the proposed project area.
