Abstract
Open Data is quickly becoming a buzz phrase in academia. Funding agencies are increasingly calling for the results of publicly funded research to be shared freely, and more and more scholars from across the disciplines are basing their studies on digital, open data. As part of this panel, we have invited IU researchers from the Advanced Visualization Lab (Informatics), the Polly Lab (Geological Sciences), the Cyberinfrastructure of Network Science Center (School of Library and Information Science), the Algernon Charles Swinburne Project (School of Library and Information Science), and the Digital Library Program to discuss and display their research conducted using visualizations of data that has been licensed for reuse or is available in the public domain.
