dc.descriptionhis report presents strategic research conducted by students in MSCH-R348: Public Relations Planning and Research in partnership with Purdue Extension, focused on assessing community readiness for agritourism in Orange County, Indiana. The study includes a situation analysis, qualitative interviews with farmers and tourism professionals, and quantitative survey data from potential tourists. Key findings highlight barriers such as limited staffing, lack of awareness, and infrastructure challenges, alongside opportunities for farm-to-table dining, youth engagement, and cross-sector collaboration. Recommendations include launching an internship program, developing educational materials, and leveraging existing tourism assets to promote agritourism ventures. This report presents original student work and recommendations created by students in MSCH-R348: Public Relations Planning and Research for Purdue Extension.
