Abstract
Detailed guides with illustrations are provided to the use of major encyclopaedic dictionaries, such as Hanyu da cidian, Zhongwen da cidian, and Daikanwa jiten (Morohashi: a short section provides keys to using the dictionary for non-Japanese readers), etc. Ordinary and specialized Chinese-English dictionaries are discussed, and a bibliography of specialized Chinese dictionaries is included.
