This presentation will describe the use of science gateways to enable Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) on distributed high performance computing resources, providing simplified and expanded access to modeling and simulation software, enabling controlled sharing and replication of models and results between collaborators, and the capturing of metadata needed for replication of results. Science gateways are web and desktop user interfaces securely connected to middleware that brokers connections to distributed advanced computing resources. We discuss further the potential of science gateways to support verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification (VVUQ).en
