Abstract

HIPs, such as undergraduate research, service-learning, and internships, represent experiences associated with student learning and success. Yet, implementation matters more than the label. This session shares findings about HIP participation and quality, including considerations for student subgroups, and discusses institutional efforts to assess and design more effective and equitable experiences.
