Description

This report presents a placemaking plan for Montgomery, Indiana, developed by students from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design. The proposal includes sidewalk redesigns, cohesive town signage, a rustic event space, interactive murals, public art installations, and a farmers market alley. Drawing on Montgomery’s agricultural and cultural heritage, the project aims to enhance community engagement and create inviting public spaces. This report was created by students from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design in collaboration with the town of Montgomery through the 2024–25 IU Sustaining Hoosier Communities initiative. The views expressed are those of the students and do not represent IUSHC, CRE, Indiana University, or the town of Montgomery.
