Abstract
Working in a community of practice as opposed to a “publish or perish” environment, IU librarians sometimes have difficulty proving the impact of non-traditional scholarship when it comes time to assemble their dossiers for the promotion and tenure process. This session will teach attendees the basics of how to use the IUScholarWorks repository to disseminate their research outputs, as well as ImpactStory, a platform that measures both the scholarly and public influence of Open Access scholarship. When combined, the two platforms can help librarians who disseminate their work primarily through posters, conference presentations, white papers, or digital projects (i.e. software development, War of 1812 project, Victorian Women Writers Project) prove their impact to other librarians, as well as other faculty who participate in the promotion and tenure process.
