L and Cognitive Work Analysis: Empirical Analysis and Evaluation of a Metadata Scheme for Representation of Pedagogical Resources in a Digital Library for Educators The Just-in-Time Teaching Digital Library (JiTTDL) is an National Science Digital Library (NSDL) project that stores JiTT resources as sets of metadata statements. The utility of the metadata scheme, its elements and its relationships is central to the ability of the library to address the pedagogical needs of JiTT practitioners in the classroom. The analytic framework of cognitive work analysis (CWA) was used to evaluate the effectiveness and appropriateness of the metadata scheme prior to actual implementation of the digital library.
