Abstract

A narrative of the complex chronology of the fall of the Qin, the civil war that followed, and the initial establishment of the Han. The chronological account is supplemented by translations of selections from the Shiji (ch. 7-8), describing the qualities of the major contestants, Xiang Yu and Liu Bang, and the war between their forces.
