This report presents two recreational programming proposals for Washington County, Indiana, developed in collaboration with the Washington County YMCA. The first program, Youth, Yoga, and You, is an outdoor family yoga event designed to promote stress management, mindfulness, and physical activity for parents and children under six. It includes detailed plans for marketing, staffing, risk management, and evaluation, with the potential to become a recurring program. The second proposal introduces Pop Up Programs—low-cost, mobile fitness activities such as low-impact yoga, nature walking clubs, and OULA dance fitness—aimed at reducing sedentary lifestyles and improving community health. Both initiatives emphasize accessibility, inclusion, and community engagement, aligning with the YMCA’s mission to foster holistic wellness. This report reflects original research and recommendations developed by students in SPH-R 230 Recreational Sports Programming for the Washington County YMCA as part of the 2020–21 Indiana University Sustaining Hoosier Communities initiative. The views expressed are those of the students and do not represent the official positions of Indiana University, the Center for Rural Engagement, Sustaining Hoosier Communities, or the Washington County YMCA.
