Methodology:The survey was distributed via Reddit message invitations in mid-September 2018 and conducted through Qualtrics. Responses were collected over the course of one month. We used segmented sampling to include a range of participants, from those who had only participated in r/science AMA once, to more frequent participants of r/science AMAs. In total, we distributed the survey to 2000 participants and received 146 responses that completed all questions regarding O’Brien et al [31]’s user engagement scale questions
