dc.description.abstract PURPOSE: the purpose of this study was to compare 18 problems related to drinking by course of study in a large national sample of university students. METHODS: the Student Alcohol Questionnaire was administered to 72 universities throughout the United States with the resulting sample containing 4,266 students.RESULTS: a significant difference was found in this sample of students on seven problems related to drinking between the majors. Business major experienced a higher percent of problems compared to health science (nursing, health education, etc) and other students. CONCLUSION: alcohol education and intervention programs need to be aimed at this group of students en_US
