Focus and Scope

The Journal of the Indiana University Student Personnel Association is published annually since 1967 by the Indiana University Student Personnel Association with support from the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) Program. The Journal is produced expressly to provide an opportunity for HESA master’s students to publish articles pertinent to the field of student affairs. The primary sources of funding for the Journal are alumni donations and support from the students and the HESA department. The important role that each of these contributors has played in the production of this edition is gratefully acknowledged and appreciated.

Peer Review Process

The twelve members of the Review Board will review each submission, provide feedback submissions, and decide which manuscripts are accepted into the Journal.  Reviewers will assess submissions based on the contribution to the field, organization and structure, and writing quality.

The review process begins in January and concludes in April.  Authors will submit multiple revisions based on the comments provided by the Review Board during this time period.

The IUSPA Journal Review Board is comprised of 11 students in the HESA program and the faculty advisor.  The student reviewers are selected through an application process.

 

Publication Frequency

The Journal of the Indiana University Student Personnel Association debuts annually on the day of the Higher Eduation and Student Affairs Hooding Ceremony, typically the first Friday of May.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

CLOCKSS system has permission to ingest, preserve, and serve this Archival Unit.
