IUScholarWorks Journals is a service of the Indiana University Libraries to support open access journal publishing at Indiana University. The Libraries provide server space and support for Open Journal Systems (OJS), an open-source solution for managing editorial processes and online publication.
The OJS system makes it possible to:
- Publish open access publications
- Track the peer-review process and other administrative functions
- Maximize exposure and visibility of publications by making full-text accessible to Google Scholar and other search services
- Tailor the appearance and identity of publications
OJS has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project through its federally funded efforts to expand and improve access to research.
Anthropology of East Europe Review
AEER is a biannual edited journal of scholarship on Eastern Europe, Russia, the Balkans, and Central Asia. Our mission is to showcase fresh, up-to-date research and to help build a community of scholars who focus on the region.
Artifact is focused on practice-based design research and aims to explore conditions, issues and tasks pertaining to design development in a broad sense. The journal is cross-disciplinary in scope and thus welcomes contributions from all design disciplines, including product design and graphic communication, IT and service design as well as organization design and design management.
Artifact publishes academic articles, short research notes, review articles, and essays. Academic articles and research notes are vetted in a double-blind review process. We send out several calls for contributions each year. In addition, we welcome unsolicited contributions.
Black Diaspora Review
The Review will provide a forum for the scholarly critiques; debate every aspect of Black Diaspora studies, including its mission, curricula, ideology and/or scholarly methodologies, linkages to other academic disciplines links to extra-academic communities, and its future.
Ethnomusicology Translations, a project of the Society for Ethnomusicology, is a peer-reviewed, open-access online series for the publication of ethnomusicological literature translated into English.
Hindsight: Journal of Optometry History
Hindsight: Journal of Optometry, quarterly publication of the Optometric Historical Society, publishes material on the history of optometry, vision science, vision care, and related topics.
Illuminare: A Student Journal in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Studies
The Illuminare is an online, open access, peer-reviewed journal that aims to publish original student work in the field of leisure studies. Established in 1992 by students in the Indiana University RPTS Department, the journal has been emblematic as the premier student-generated leisure journal.
Indiana Magazine of History
Published continuously since 1905, the Indiana Magazine of History is one of the nation's oldest historical journals. Since 1913, the IMH has been edited and published quarterly at Indiana University, Bloomington. Today, the IMH features peer-reviewed historical articles, research notes, annotated primary documents, reviews, and critical essays that contribute to public understanding of midwestern and Indiana history.

The Indiana University Bookman
The Indiana University Bookman was published irregularly from 1956 through 1988 by the Indiana University Library for the bookmen of Indiana and friends of the University. In addition to articles and papers on books and manuscripts, the publication contains descriptions of important acquisitions to the Indiana University Libraries.
The Indiana University Journal of Undergraduate Research
The Indiana University Journal of Undergraduate Research (IUJUR) is a newly formed student organization supported by the Office of the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education. It aims to create a student-run, faculty-mentored, annual undergraduate research publication for IUB's campus.
Indiana University South Bend Graduate Research Journal
The Graduate Research Journal is a multidisciplinary journal specifically for graduate students. The goal of the GRJ is to publish the best graduate work produced on Indiana University South Bend’s campus every year. We also provide opportunities for academic and professional experience through the peer review and editing process done by graduate students. As a multidisciplinary journal, participants will have the opportunity to engage with ideas and work outside of their fields, which will promote the exchange of perspectives among academic disciplines within the campus.

Journal of the Student Personnel Association at Indiana University
The Journal of the Student Personnel Association at Indiana University (formerly The Journal of the Indiana University Student Personnel Association) has been published annually since 1967 by the Student Personnel Association at Indiana University with support from the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) Program. The Journal is produced expressly to provide an opportunity for HESA master’s students to publish articles pertinent to the field of student affairs. The primary sources of funding for the Journal are alumni donations and support from the students and the HESA department. The important role that each of these contributors has played is gratefully acknowledged and appreciated.

The Medieval Review
Since 1993, The Medieval Review (TMR; formerly the Bryn Mawr Medieval Review) has been publishing reviews of current work in all areas of Medieval Studies, a field it interprets as broadly as possible. The electronic medium allows for very rapid publication of reviews, and provides a computer searchable archive of past reviews, both of which are of great utility to scholars and students around the world.

The World is Our Home
College students at Indiana University are paired with students from TEAM schools, and the writing partners work together to author and illustrate children's stories. At the same time, students at the Kabwende Primary Center write and illustrate their own stories. These stories are compiled into an annual anthology which is distributed to 2,000 students and teachers at Kabwende Primary Center to be used for English language instruction.
