Focus and Scope

The Review will provide a forum for the scholarly critiques; debate every aspect of Black Diaspora studies, including its mission, curricula, ideology and/or scholarly methodologies, linkages to other academic disciplines links to extra-academic communities, and its future.

Peer Review Process

The co-editors will undertake an initial review of articles and review essays submitted to Black Diaspora Review in order to determine their suitability for peer review. (The co-editors are available to consult with potential authors prior to the submission of a manuscript for formal consideration.) Provided the initial review is affirmative, reviews will be solicited from two outside readers with knowledge appropriate to the to the submitted article.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

CLOCKSS system has permission to ingest, preserve, and serve this Archival Unit.

Aims of Black Diaspora Review

The Review will provide a forum for scholarly critique; and debate every aspect of Black Diaspora studies, including its missions, curricula, ideological and/or scholarly methodologies, linkages to other academic disciplines, links to extra-academic communitiesm, and its future. It will be the only professional within Black Diaspora studies to offer an overview, configuration, and critique of the discipline--both nationally and internationally.
